Chapter 4
4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from Elohim, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1st John
4:2 This is how you know the Spirit of Elohim: Every spirit that confesses that YASHUWAH the Messiah has come in the flesh is from Elohim,
4:3 and every spirit that does not confess that YASHUWAH the Messiah has come in the flesh is not from Elohim. This is the spirit of the antimessiah, which you have heard is coming and is already in the world.
4:4 You are of Elohim, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
4:5 They are of the world, and therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them.
4:6 We are of Elohim, and whoever knows Elohim listens to us. Whoever is not of Elohim does not listen to us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of Elohim, and everyone who loves is born of Elohim and knows Elohim.
4:8 Anyone who does not love does not know Elohim, for Elohim is love.
4:9 In this way the love of Elohim was revealed to us, that Elohim sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
4:10 In this is love: not that we loved Elohim, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
4:11 Beloved, if Elohim so loved us, we must also love one another.
4:12 No one has seen Elohim at any time. If we love one another, Elohim dwells in us, and His love is perfected in us.
4:13 We know that we live in Him, and He in us, because He has given us His Spirit.
4:14 And we have seen and testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
4:15 Whoever confesses that YASHUWAH is the Son of Elohim, Elohim lives in him, and he in Elohim.
4:16 And we have come to know and to believe the love that Elohim has for us. Elohim is love. Whoever lives in love lives in Elohim, and Elohim in him.
4:17 In this way Elohim's love is perfected in us, so that we may have boldness on the Day of Judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world.
4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. Whoever fears is not perfect in love.
4:19 We love Him because He first loved us.
4:20 If anyone says, “I love Elohim,” and hates his brother, he is a liar. For whoever does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love Elohim whom he has not seen?
4:21 We have this commandment from Him: Whoever loves Elohim must also love his brother.
