19:1 Then Pilate therefore took YASHUWAH, and flogged him.
John
19:2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they put a purple robe on him,
John
19:3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
John
19:4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and says to them, Behold, I bring him forth to you*, so that you* may know that I find no fault in him.
John
19:5 Then YASHUWAH came forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate says to them, Behold the man!
John
19:6 Therefore when the chief priests and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Nail him to the torture stake, nail him to the torture stake. Pilate says to them, You* take him, and nail him to the torture stake: for I find no fault in him.
John
19:7 The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of Elohim.
John
19:8 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
John
19:9 And went again into the judgment-hall, and says to YASHUWAH, Where do you come from? But YASHUWAH gave him no answer.
John
19:10 Then Pilate says to him, Do you not speak to me? do you not know, that I have power to nail you to the torture stake, and have power to release you?
John
19:11 YASHUWAH answered, You could have no power at all against me; unless it were given to you from above: therefore he who delivered me to you has the greater sin.
John
19:12 And from that time Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If you let this man go, you are not Cesar's friend. Whoever makes himself a king, speaks against Cesar.
John
19:13 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought YASHUWAH forth, and sat down on the judgment-seat, in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
John
19:14 And it was the preparation day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour: and he says to the Jews, Behold your* King!
John
19:15 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, nail him to the torture stake. Pilate says to them, Shall I nail to the torture stake your* King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Cesar.
John
19:16 Then therefore he delivered him to them to be nailed to the torture stake. And they took YASHUWAH, and led him away.
John
19:17 And he, bearing his torture stake, went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew, Golgotha:
John
19:18 Where they nailed him to the torture stake, and two others with him, one on each side, and YASHUWAH in the midst.
John
19:19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the torture stake. And the writing was, YASHUWAH OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
John
19:20 Many of the Jews then read this title: for the place where YASHUWAH was nailed to the torture stake was near the city: and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
John
19:21 Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Do not write, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
John
19:22 Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written.
John
19:23 Then the soldiers, when they had nailed to the torture stake YASHUWAH, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
John
19:24 Therefore they said among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it shall be: so that the scripture might be fulfilled, which says, They parted my clothing among them, and for my vesture they cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
John
19:25 Now there stood by the torture stake of YASHUWAH, his mother, his mother's sister ~ Miriam, the wife of Cleophas, and Miriam Magdalene.
John
19:26 When YASHUWAH therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by whom he loved, he says to his mother, Woman, behold your son!
John
19:27 Then he says to the disciple, Behold your mother! And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.
John
19:28 After this, YASHUWAH knowing that all things were now accomplished, so that the scripture might be fulfilled, says, I thirst.
John
19:29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
John
19:30 When YASHUWAH therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the spirit.
John
19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, so that the bodies should not remain upon the torture stake on the sabbath (for that sabbath was a great day), prayed Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
John
19:32 Then the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was nailed with him to the torture stake.
John
19:33 But when they came to YASHUWAH, and saw that he was dead already, they did not break his legs:
John
19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and immediately blood and water came out.
John
19:35 And he who saw it, testified ~ and his testimony is true, and he knows that he speaks truth ~ so that you* may believe.
John
19:36 For these things were done, so that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
John
19:37 And again another scripture says, They shall look at him whom they pierced.
John
19:38 And after this, Joseph of Arimathea (being a disciple of YASHUWAH, but secretly for fear of the Jews) begged Pilate that he might take away the body of YASHUWAH: and Pilate gave him permission. He therefore came and took the body of YASHUWAH.
John
19:39 And Nicodemus (who at the first came to YASHUWAH by night) also came and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about one hundred pounds in weight.
John
19:40 Then they took the body of YASHUWAH, and wound it in linen cloths, with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.
John
19:41 Now in the place where he was nailed to the torture stake, there was a garden; and in the garden a new tomb, in which no man had ever yet laid.
John
19:42 There they laid YASHUWAH therefore, because of the Jews' preparation-day, for the tomb was near at hand.
