17:2 Then Nathan said to David, Do all that is in your heart; for Elohim is with you.

X 1st Chronicles

17:3 And it came to pass the same night, that the word of Elohim came to Nathan, saying,

X 1st Chronicles

17:4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus says YHWH, You shall not build me a house to dwell in:

X 1st Chronicles

17:5 For I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.

X 1st Chronicles

17:6 Wherever I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have you* not built me a house of cedars?

X 1st Chronicles

17:7 Now therefore thus shall you say to my servant David, Thus says YHWH of hosts, I took you from the sheep-cote, even from following the sheep, that you should be ruler over my people Israel:

X 1st Chronicles

17:8 And I have been with you wherever you have walked, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.

X 1st Chronicles

17:9 Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning.

X 1st Chronicles

17:10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover, I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore, I tell you that YHWH will build you a house.

X 1st Chronicles

17:12 He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.

X 1st Chronicles

17:15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.

X 1st Chronicles

17:16 And David the king came and sat before YHWH, and said, Who am I, O YHWH Elohim, and what is my house, that you have brought me until now?

X 1st Chronicles

17:17 And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, O Elohim; for you have also spoken of your servant's house for a great while to come, and have regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O YHWH Elohim.

X 1st Chronicles

17:18 What can David speak more to you for the honor of your servant? for you know your servant.

X 1st Chronicles

17:19 O YHWH, for your servant's sake, and according to your own heart, have you done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.

X 1st Chronicles

17:20 O YHWH, there is none like you, neither is there any Elohim besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

X 1st Chronicles

17:21 And what one nation in the earth is like your people Israel, whom Elohim went to redeem to be his own people, to make you a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before your people, whom you have redeemed out of Egypt?

X 1st Chronicles

17:22 For your people Israel did you make your own people forever; and you, YHWH, becamest their Elohim.

X 1st Chronicles

17:23 Therefore now, YHWH, Let the thing that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house be established forever, and do as you have said.

X 1st Chronicles

17:24 Let it even be established, that your name may be magnified forever, saying, YHWH of hosts is the Elohim of Israel, even a Elohim to Israel: and let the house of David your servant be established before you.

X 1st Chronicles

17:25 For you, O my Elohim, have told your servant that you will build him a house: therefore your servant has found in his heart to pray before you.

X 1st Chronicles

17:26 And now, YHWH, you are Elohim, and have promised this goodness to your servant:

X 1st Chronicles

17:27 Now therefore let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may be before you forever: for you blessest, O YHWH, and it shall be blessed forever.

18:7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

X 1st Chronicles

18:8 Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, David brought very much brass, with which Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

X 1st Chronicles

18:9 Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah;

X 1st Chronicles

18:10 He sent Hadoram his son to king David to inquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had warred with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold, and silver, and brass.

X 1st Chronicles

18:11 Them also king David dedicated to YHWH, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

18:12 Moreover, Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.

X 1st Chronicles

19:3 But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest you that David does honor your father, that he has sent comforters to you? are not his servants come to you to search, and to overthrow, and to explore the land?

X 1st Chronicles

19:4 Therefore Hanun took David's servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.

X 1st Chronicles

19:5 Then there went certain, and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Stay at Jericho until your* beards are grown, and then return.

X 1st Chronicles

X 1st Chronicles

19:7 So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people, who came and encamped before Medeba. And the children of Ammon assembled from their cities, and came to battle.

X 1st Chronicles

19:8 And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the host of the mighty men.

X 1st Chronicles

19:9 And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array before the gate of the city: and the kings that had come were by themselves in the field.

X 1st Chronicles

19:13 Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our Elohim: and let YHWH do that which is good in his sight.

X 1st Chronicles

21:3 And Joab answered, YHWH make his people a hundred times more numerous than they are: but, my master the king, are they not all my master's servants? why then does my master require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?

X 1st Chronicles

21:4 Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab. Therefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.

X 1st Chronicles

21:5 And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people to David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand and a hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah was four hundred and seventy thousand men that drew sword.

Now therefore advise yourself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.
